Nexus Recovery Support Community Peer Staff

Purpose:  

 This is a peer community based support role for those desiring support as they seek a life free from drug or alcohol dependence OR if they are not ready to cease using these but want a safe and positive space to connect with support and health resources.  The Nexus program is a component of GreenTree Peer Support Program in Winston-Salem. Role objectives include:

  1. To provide genuine, non-judgmental welcome to all comers in a safe, trauma-sensitive social setting

Certified Peer Support Specialist

 • Meeting with clients to provide advice and support in accordance with treatment plan • Supporting/assisting consumers in daily decision making and resolution of minor problems

• Assisting clients by finding resources, advising the consumer of processes, and encouraging follow through with proposed resolutions, locating social activities, or provide other assistance as needed

Certified Peer Support Specialist

Program Summary:  Provide an array of Peer Support Services and Administrative functions as directed or assigned by CEO, Program Manager and Clinical director.

 

Position:  Peer Support Specialist must be certified by North Carolina’s Peer Support Specialist Program. 

Reports to:  Peer Support Services Program Supervisor (QP)

Certified Peer Support Specialist/IPS Supportive Employment -Employment Peer Mentor

Employment Peer Mentor (EPM): EPMs offer hope and motivation by drawing from their lived experience and their own employment experiences to encourage other individuals to seek and maintain employment, wellness, and community integration. Employment Peer Mentors do not hold their own caseloads and do not function as an extension of ESPs or as case managers. They support any and all individuals enrolled in the service through the provision of wellness interventions, promoting self-determination, and helping individuals advocate for themselves.

Certified Peer Support Specialist

Community Advancement Agency is seeking NC Certified Peer Support Specialists that are well established in their own recovery from Mental Health and/or Substance Abuse, to provide recovery support services to individuals that are seeking Peer Support Services.

Requirements:

Certified Peer Support Specialist with UNC- NCCPSS Program

High School Diploma/GED

Reliable Transportation ( Personal Vehicle)

Current/Active Car Insurance and Vehicle Registration

Computer Knowledge/Skills (Microsoft WORD/Internet)

First Aid/CPR Certification

Peer Facilitator and Supporter

GreenTree Peer Support Program is looking for a 20 plus hour CPSS who can assist with the activities of our peer community at the Peer Center.  Required skills include:

Empowering peer support practice skills and an interest in working in an alternative, peer developed setting.

The ability to co-facilitate groups and classes aimed at promoting health, wellness self-management, and reduction in crisis needs in order to support recovery and resilience.  

Refuge Crisis Support Peer Supporter

We are looking for part-time contractor who can work independently to support individuals at our "Refuge" house who are coming from area Emergency Departments and other agencies. This job includes welcoming and hosting an individual (includes offering meals, shower, laundry, and sleep)  and assisting to link the person to the Peer Center and other resources they may need once they have rested.  Training will be provided.  This role sometimes involves going to one of the hospitals to pick up an individual who has been referred by hospital staff.  The Refuge is across the street from the Peer
