I’m a dedicated professional in the field of Advocacy/Peer Support Specialist with the knowledge, skills and Ability in supporting this population. I have a Bachelor degree in Business Administration from Fayetteville State University also a Master degree in Counseling focusing on Mental Health from Webster University, Certified Integrative Health Coach from Duke Integrative Medicine, North Carolina Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist-Associate (LCAS-A), Trained in Mental Health First Aid, and a Certified Peer Support Specialist-Veteran Service Member by the State of North Carolina and I serve as a peer support trainer with over 1500 hrs. I have also completed training for the Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP®) and am working on becoming a WRAP® co-facilitator. Passionate about assisting individuals with mental health and substance use diagnoses. My previous experience in the Military over 24.5 years and 10 additional years working with the U.S. Army Wounded Warrior Program; Advocating for the most severely wounds, illness, or injury soldiers’ and the Family members highlights my leadership and expertise with interpersonal communication and organization, both required skills in peer support work.

I have increased my ability to assist individuals with acknowledging their strengths, identifying community resources, and implementing learned strategies to support health and wellness.  I have a commitment to helping others in their recovery efforts and have spent many years doing so. My experience demonstrates the passion for service and capacity to deliver high quality education that will prepare individuals for work as a Certified Peer Support Specialist-Veteran Service Member.
