JOB TITLE: Peer Support Specialist  

SUPERVISED BY: PSS Supervisor

LOCATION:  Goldsboro, N.C

Coastal Horizons Center, Inc. is seeking a qualified Peer Support Specialist (PSS) in the following county:  Wayne County

The PSS promotes consumer engagement in therapy with clinicians, engagement with psychiatric appointments, involvement and engagement with wellness services and recovery support, and engagement with primary care; completes all tracking and reporting requirements for outcomes and evaluation and documents services provided; and assists clients in a variety of ways – transportation, sharing of personal recovery stories, etc. The PSS works directly with the CHC Treatment providers, local Hospital, and local Jail to ensure continuity of care and engages in a team approach in the provision of services with, treatment providers, and support services.  

REQUIRED EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: 

HS Diploma/Equivalent or higher, combined with knowledge of wellness and recovery-based concepts. Lived experiences with mental health and/or substance use disorders and at least one year of recovery.   Must have completed or be willing to complete the Peer Support Specialist Certification Program.
