Job Description:
Central Community Services is recruiting for the new position of PSS-Jail Diversion. This post provides support, discharge planning, and aftercare for persons with mental illnesses and/or substance use disorders with non-violent charges. Services are provided within detention centers, courts, homes, and community service sites in Granville, Vance, Warren, and Franklin counties, North Carolina.
The ideal candidate has:
* NC-PSS Certification
* Lived experience with court processes
* Minium of High School diploma (degree preferred)
GREENSBORO area - mostly counties within 1 hour of Durham
NC Certified Peer Support Specialists with 2+ years actual work experience

Nationally accredited CARF agency seeking immediate hire of NCCPSS staff with 2 or more years of work experience in the field.
Requirements include:
NC Certified Peer Support Specialist current certification
Clean DMV and criminal background check, clean NC Healthcare Registry check (pre-hire job offer)
Ability to recruit and maintain minimum of 8 self-referral cases (if PT, 5+ cases)
Ability to work M-F, 9am-5pm (other hours on weekends optional per contractor scheduling)

• Meeting with clients to provide advice and support in accordance with treatment plan • Supporting/assisting consumers in daily decision making and resolution of minor problems
• Assisting clients by finding resources, advising the consumer of processes, and encouraging follow through with proposed resolutions, locating social activities, or provide other assistance as needed
Employment Peer Mentor (EPM): EPMs offer hope and motivation by drawing from their lived experience and their own employment experiences to encourage other individuals to seek and maintain employment, wellness, and community integration. Employment Peer Mentors do not hold their own caseloads and do not function as an extension of ESPs or as case managers. They support any and all individuals enrolled in the service through the provision of wellness interventions, promoting self-determination, and helping individuals advocate for themselves.

Community Support Team
Individual Peer Support
Peer Support at clubhouse/day program
Services are provided in the counties of Vance, Granville, Franklin, and Warren.
Preferred candidates offer:
* NC Peer Support Specialist certification
* Availability for 25 or more hours weekly
* Excellent communication and documentation skills (use of electronic records)

The Peer Support Specialist exemplifies recovery principles in order to show by example that recovery is possible and attainable. The Peer Specialist shares their personal recovery story when appropriate, and walks the road of recovery alongside the service recipient.
Educate and advocate for the values and principles of the Recovery Model.
Work to increase level of cultural sensitivity, awareness and competency regarding Person-Centered and Peer-Delivered Services.
