Certification must be renewed every two years from the initial certification date. CPSSs are responsible for maintaining and renewing their certificate.
To verify an individual's status as a North Carolina Certified Peer Support Specialist, enter the person's full or partial first and/or last name in the search fields below. Searching by a partial name may return multiple results for review. Search results will display the individual's name, initial certification date, most recent recertification date, and the "Recertify by" date.
Please note that the "Recertify By" date displayed in the credential verification system includes the additional 30-day grace period allowed for late recertification processing. The actual certification expiration date is the date printed on the individual's certificate. Please refer to the certificate to confirm the official expiration date.
Employers using this verification tool are encouraged to request a copy of the individual's current certificate to confirm certification status.
Certificates will be received within 10–14 business days following certification or recertification approval.
