Status message

Effective April 1, the NCCPSS Program will transition to an ONLINE-ONLY APPLICATION PROCESS. Certification and recertification applications must be submitted using the ONLINE portal. Mailed (paper) applications will not be accepted. We encourage all applicants to create an account first and access the online application now to help avoid application processing delays. Position: Certified Peer Support Specialists at King Prestige Services, LLC will utilize their personal lived recovery experience to assist and support clients on a one-on-one basis. Your role will involve advocacy for your client, direct peer support, and working closely with the clinical team to enhance client outcomes. We service all areas of Eastern and Western North Carolina. We are specifically looking in Forsyth County for Full-time or Part-time Certified Peer Support Specialists. 

Key Responsibilities for Peer Support Specialist:

  • Provide one-on-one peer support to clients.
  • Peer Support Specialists will share their personal recovery experiences to inspire hope and offer encouragement.
  • Assist clients in developing their own tailor made recovery goals that will address their specific needs and circumstances.
  • Assist clients with identifying and connecting with community resources, such as housing, employment, educational opportunities, and healthcare services.
  • Assist clients with information and referrals about appropriate services.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Must maintain timely and accurate Progress Notes of client interactions.
  • Report any significant changes in client status to the QP and the clinical team.

Certification/Training and Personal Development:

  • Certification as a North Carolina Peer Support Specialist.
  • Completion of relevant peer support training programs.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and training to maintain certification and enhance skills.
  • Stay informed about current best practices in peer support and recovery.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Display strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Have the ability to display patience, empathy, and a non-judgmental approach to client care.
  • Ability to share lived experiences with clients to assist them in their recovery.
  • Ability to maintain boundaries and confidentiality

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work within the chosen county of Eastern or Western North Carolina.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
