Status message

Effective April 1, the NCCPSS Program will transition to an ONLINE-ONLY APPLICATION PROCESS. Certification and recertification applications must be submitted using the ONLINE portal. Mailed (paper) applications will not be accepted. We encourage all applicants to create an account first and access the online application now to help avoid application processing delays. Are you passionate about helping others on their journey to recovery? TWCC is excited to announce openings for Peer Support Specialist positions in Winston-Salem, Burlington, and Monroe, NC. We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals with a commitment to promoting recovery and wellness.

About the Role

As a Peer Support Specialist, you will provide critical support, encouragement, and resources to individuals facing mental health and substance use challenges. Your lived experience and empathetic approach will be key to helping clients navigate their recovery journeys in alignment with Medicaid guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one peer support and mentoring.
  • Facilitate peer support groups.
  • Assist individuals in developing personalized recovery plans.
  • Connect individuals with community resources and services.
  • Foster a supportive, non-judgmental environment to empower clients.

Qualifications:

  • Lived experience with mental health or substance use challenges.
  • Certification as a Peer Support Specialist (or willingness to obtain certification).
  • Strong communication and active listening skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with a diverse team.
  • Dedication to promoting recovery and wellness.
