Job Description
Work with the Clinical Department on client intervention plans and activities and strive to achieve successful outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Provide services based on the principles of wellness, self-management, personal recovery, coping skills, nature support, and self-advocacy skills. Ensure that these services are delivered in accordance with peer support ethics and values.
- Maintain client confidentiality in adherence to HIPPA regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the provision of quality service to consumers.
- Establish open lines of communication for individuals with mental or emotional issues by developing and implementing a Mental Health Wellness Recovery Action Plan.
- Help individuals with substance abuse issues by developing the use of crisis plans, advance directives and providing prevention support.
- Provide prevention-oriented counseling
- Implement and review treatment plans.
- Collaborate with additional treatment providers, placement agencies and community resources.
- Ensure timely completion of documentation of PSS service in accordance with Clinical Coverage Policy and other regulatory requirements set forth by LME.
Qualifications
- NC Certified Peer Support Specialist.
- Previous experience in mental health counseling or other related fields.
- Familiarity with community mental health resources.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build rapport with clients.
