Foundations of Peer Support (Part II) In-Person Training 40 hours to fulfill Certification Track A. 

Registration in this course requires completion of the online Foundations of Peer Support (Part I) Online Training. 

This training runs from Monday, January 5 through Friday, January 9: 8:00am to 5:00pm.

  • Your name

  • Date of birth
  • Completion Certificate for the online course - Foundations of Peer Support (Part I) 

This training emphasizes: 

  • Core values of peer support, such as recovery, self-determination, and person centered care.
  • Practical skills for building authentic relationships, communicating effectively, and supporting self-advocacy
  • Professional responsibilities include ethics, boundaries, cultural humility and wellness.
  • Collaboration with service providers, families, and communities to strengthen support networks.  

This course integrates interactive learning, group discussion, reflection, and skills practice, fostering an engaging and supportive environment. Participants are encouraged to share their personal experiences, understanding that their stories and insights serve as valuable resources for others. Completing this training is a step towards becoming a CPSS in NC. Certification affirms your role as a professional peer, opening doors to work in behavioral health and recovery-focused settings.
