Certified Peer Support Specialist

Job Overview

Global Vision Support Services, LLC is seeking a compassionate and motivated Certified Peer Support Specialist to provide therapeutic mentoring and skill-building support for individuals receiving behavioral health services. This role focuses on helping consumers develop daily living skills, improve social functioning, and achieve goals outlined in their Person-Centered Plan.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide therapeutic mentoring and peer support to consumers.
• Assist with daily living and community living skills.
• Support development of socialization, coping, and adaptation skills.
• Provide behavior and anger management support and substance abuse education.
• Monitor symptoms and help consumers practice healthy coping strategies.
• Participate in community activities that support consumer goals.
• Maintain accurate documentation, including daily progress notes and weekly timesheets.
• Communicate regularly with the Qualified Professional and follow all agency policies.
• Ensure consumer safety, confidentiality, and rights are protected.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• NC Certified Peer Support Specialist Certification (required)
• Must be 18 years or older
• Ability to pass state-mandated trainings
• Valid North Carolina Driver’s License and reliable transportation
• Must pass criminal background and Health Registry checks

Preferred

• 1 year experience in human services or related field
• Experience working with individuals with behavioral health or substance use challenges

• Supervision provided by a Qualified Professional.
• Training opportunities available.
• Must complete required documentation and attend agency trainings.

Salary: Based on experience $17.50 to $20 per hour.
