Peer Support Supervisor

Position Summary
The Peer Support Supervisor provides leadership, guidance, and oversight to Peer Support Specialists while promoting recovery-oriented, person-centered services. This position is responsible for supervising peer support staff, ensuring compliance with organizational and certification standards, supporting professional development, and maintaining high-quality services for individuals receiving behavioral health and recovery support services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Supervise, mentor, and support Peer Support Specialists in the delivery of peer-based recovery services.
* Conduct regular supervision meetings, performance evaluations, and coaching sessions.
* Ensure peer support services are delivered in accordance with organizational policies, state regulations, ethical standards, and best practices.
* Monitor documentation and service delivery to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance.
* Assist with recruitment, onboarding, training, and retention of peer support staff.
* Promote a recovery-oriented and trauma-informed approach to service delivery.
* Provide guidance and support in managing challenging situations and crisis interventions when appropriate.
* Facilitate team meetings and encourage collaboration among staff and community partners.
* Track program outcomes and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
* Serve as a role model for recovery principles, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
* Maintain confidentiality and protect client rights in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
Education
* Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Public Health, Behavioral Health, or a related field.
Experience
* Minimum of two (2) years of experience working as a Peer Support Specialist.
* Demonstrated experience providing recovery-oriented services and support to individuals with behavioral health, substance use, or co-occurring disorders.
* Previous supervisory or leadership experience is preferred.
Certification Requirements
* Must possess a current, active Peer Support Specialist certification recognized by the applicable state certifying authority.
* Certification must remain active and in good standing throughout employment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* Strong understanding of peer support principles, recovery models, and person-centered practices.
* Knowledge of behavioral health systems, community resources, and support services.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to provide effective supervision, coaching, and staff development.
* Strong organizational, documentation, and time management skills.
* Ability to maintain professional boundaries and uphold ethical standards.
* Proficiency in electronic health records and basic computer applications.
Physical Requirements
* Ability to sit, stand, walk, and communicate effectively for extended periods.
* Ability to travel locally as required for meetings, trainings, or program activities.
Work Environment
* Required to be in office 2 days a week as assigned by HR Manager, community-based, and/or remote settings as determined by program needs.
* May require occasional evening or weekend hours.
