Position Overview:
Southeastern Life Center (SELC) is seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and accountable House Manager (Residential Recovery Home Supervisor) to oversee the daily operations of a residential recovery home serving individuals recovering from substance use and behavioral health challenges. This position plays a vital role in creating a safe, structured, and recovery-focused environment where participants can develop the skills, accountability, and support systems necessary to achieve long-term success.
The House Manager serves as both a supervisor and mentor, helping residents navigate the challenges of recovery while ensuring compliance with program expectations, safety standards, and state regulations. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who can balance compassion with accountability, maintain professional boundaries, and foster a positive culture of recovery.
This position requires the House Manager to reside in the assigned recovery residence during designated supervision hours and provide consistent oversight of residents, house operations, and program compliance.
About the Program:
Southeastern Life Center operates a structured residential recovery program designed to support individuals overcoming substance use disorders and behavioral health challenges. Participants engage in clinical treatment, peer support, life skills development, employment readiness, and community integration activities while residing in a recovery-oriented environment.

Primary Responsibilities:
The House Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of daily residential operations, including participant supervision, accountability, safety, documentation, and recovery support.
Key responsibilities include:
Maintaining a safe, clean, and structured recovery residence.
Supervising residents and ensuring adherence to house rules, curfews, and program expectations.
Providing mentorship, guidance, and encouragement to individuals in recovery.
Conducting daily check-ins and facilitating morning meetings.
Leading a minimum of three weekly house meetings.
Ensuring residents attend required treatment services, classes, appointments, employment, volunteer activities, and recovery meetings.
Monitoring participant behavior and addressing concerns in a professional and timely manner.
Conducting room inspections, medication counts, and drug and alcohol screenings as directed.
Maintaining accurate documentation, including medication logs, incident reports, transportation records, request forms, and participant accountability logs.
Coordinating transportation and assisting residents in maintaining schedules and appointments.
Monitoring resident health and wellness and reporting concerns to program leadership.
Managing household supplies, food inventory, and facility needs.
Assisting with participant admissions, transitions, and dismissals when necessary.
Schedule:
House Managers provide on-site residential supervision and are expected to reside in the assigned home during designated coverage periods:
Monday – Friday: 2:00 PM – 6:00 AM
Saturday – Sunday: 24-hour residential supervision
Additional meetings, training, and administrative duties may be required.
Qualifications:
Preferred candidates will have experience in:
Current NCCPSS credential
Valid drivers license
Behavioral Health Services
Residential Services
Substance Use Recovery Programs
Peer Support Services (Veterans, SUD, MH, Certified Older Adults)
Case Management or Human Services
Applicants must possess strong communication skills, organizational abilities, sound judgment, and the ability to maintain professional boundaries while supporting individuals in recovery.
Candidates should be able to maintain documentation in compliance with North Carolina behavioral health standards and organizational policies.
Recovery Experience:
Individuals with lived recovery experience are strongly encouraged to apply. Applicants must demonstrate a minimum of 180 days of sustained sobriety prior to employment.
