HumanWorks Collective is seeking compassionate, motivated North Carolina Certified Peer Support Specialists (CPSS) to join our growing behavioral health team. At HumanWorks Collective, we believe recovery is possible for everyone. Our Peer Support Specialists play a vital role in empowering individuals to build independence, connect with community resources, and achieve their personal recovery goals.
What You'll Do:
Provide individualized peer support services in the community.
Utilize your lived experience to encourage hope and recovery.
Assist individuals in developing recovery goals and wellness plans.
Connect individuals with housing, employment, education, transportation, and community resources.
Promote self-advocacy, independence, and community integration.
Collaborate with therapists, care managers, and other treatment team members.
Complete timely, accurate documentation in accordance with NC Medicaid and HumanWorks standards.
Maintain professional boundaries and adhere to the North Carolina CPSS Code of Ethics.
Qualifications
Applicants must:
Hold a current North Carolina Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) certification in good standing.
Have a high school diploma or GED.
Possess a valid North Carolina driver's license and reliable transportation.
Be able to travel throughout the assigned county.
Have strong communication and documentation skills.
Be passionate about helping others succeed in recovery.
North Carolina CPSS certification requires lived experience in recovery, approved training, and continuing education.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with adults with serious mental illness and/or substance use disorders.
Knowledge of NC Medicaid services and community resources.
Motivational Interviewing or WRAP training.
Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.
Veteran Peer Support experience is a plus.
