As a person in long-term recovery, Gregory ("Greg") Liggs has successfully maintained his recovery and wellness journey for more than 15 years while navigating life's challenges with resilience and purpose. Drawing from his lived experiences with mental health and trauma-related challenges, as well as a history of incarceration and institutionalization, Greg is deeply committed to supporting others as they pursue their own paths toward recovery, wellness, and personal growth.

Greg became a North Carolina Certified Peer Support Specialist in 2021 and has continued to expand his knowledge and expertise through numerous certifications and specialized trainings. He is a Certified Trainer for the state-approved Recovery Can Happen Peer Support curriculum through the Kellin Foundation (2025), a certified Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Trainer since 2020, and a Community Resilience Model (CRM) Trainer through the Kellin Foundation. In 2026, Greg completed certification training in Integrated Forensic Peer Support through SafeProject -Safe-Communities. Additional professional development includes North Carolina State University, CFACE North Carolina Addiction Specialist Certificate Program (2022), Family Peer Specialist Through the Lifespan training (2024), and Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED certification (2026).

Since 2023, Greg has served as the Peer Services Supervisor at the Kellin Foundation in Greensboro, North Carolina. In this role, he provides one-on-one peer support services, facilitates peer support groups, teaches wellness-focused classes, and delivers both community-based and organizational trainings.

Beyond his work at the Kellin Foundation, Greg actively collaborates with community partners and organizations focused on mental health wellness, recovery support, and justice-involved reentry initiatives. His passion for peer support and community engagement is rooted in a simple philosophy: to "meet people where they are" and walk alongside them as they pursue their goals and recovery journeys.
