The Qualified Professional (QP) is responsible for providing clinical oversight, care coordination, service planning, and case management for individuals receiving behavioral health services. The QP ensures that services are person-centered, recovery-oriented, and compliant with state, federal, and agency regulations. The position requires collaboration with clients, families, providers, and community resources to promote successful treatment outcomes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Complete comprehensive assessments and participate in the development of Person-Centered Plans (PCPs).
Develop, implement, monitor, and update individualized service plans.
Coordinate behavioral health services with internal staff, community providers, and referral sources.
Provide clinical supervision and guidance to paraprofessional staff, peer support specialists, and qualified staff as assigned.
Monitor client progress toward treatment goals and recommend modifications as needed.
Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation in the electronic health record.
Conduct crisis intervention and provide support during behavioral health emergencies when necessary.
Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings and case consultations.
Ensure services meet all Medicaid, state, and accreditation requirements.
Educate clients and families regarding treatment options, community resources, and recovery supports.
Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and applicable regulations.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives, staff meetings, and required training.
Perform other duties as assigned by agency leadership.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Sociology, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university.
Must meet North Carolina Qualified Professional (QP) requirements under NC Medicaid and state regulations.
Minimum of two years of documented experience working with individuals with mental health, substance use, or intellectual/developmental disabilities, or as otherwise required by state regulations.
Valid North Carolina driver's license and reliable transportation.
Ability to pass criminal background and reference checks.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of behavioral health treatment principles and recovery-oriented practices.
Understanding of Person-Centered Planning and service coordination.
Strong assessment, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to establish effective working relationships with clients, families, staff, and community agencies.
Proficiency in electronic health records and Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds.
Ability to travel locally for client visits, meetings, and community appointments.
Ability to perform work in office, community, and home-based settings.
Working Conditions
Office, community, and client home environments.
Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required based on client needs.
Exposure to clients experiencing behavioral health crises.
