Bridges, Sherry

Sherry Bridges is a North Carolina native. She is a Gardner-Webb University graduate and holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in Deaf Studies.  She is a fluent signer and enjoys working alongside the Deaf and DeafBlind within the community.  She currently works at RHA Health Services – Deaf & Hard of Hearing program as the Outreach Coordinator & Consultant and Peer Support Specialist Supervisor.  While working at RHA Health Services, Sherry has provided various trainings in the community such as; Crisis Intervention Training to emergency first responders, Cultural Competency trainings to medical and management care organizations, and Descalation trainings to RHA employees.  Sherry began her personal mental health recovery journey in 2015 and was introduced to Peer Support and the Wellness Action Plan, WRAP, in 2016. Her journey continues today as she applies recovery principles to her own life and wellness practices. Today, she works with other Deaf and DeafBlind peers in recovery by empowering hope and modeling recovery practices and tools.  Sherry is also a committed participant in developing the RHA-DHH NCPSS/WRAP Training Program and curriculum; providing course & training development to trainers and upcoming peer support specialists.
