Status message

Effective April 1, the NCCPSS Program will transition to an ONLINE-ONLY APPLICATION PROCESS. Certification and recertification applications must be submitted using the ONLINE portal. Mailed (paper) applications will not be accepted. We encourage all applicants to create an account first and access the online application now to help avoid application processing delays. SUMMARY OF POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: 
Under the supervision of the Clinical Director the Qualified Professional provides community­based services to assigned caseloads. This position is crucial in the implementation of quality integrative care at Hope Restorative Solutions, PLLC. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: 

  1. Provide individualized, ongoing guidance, coaching and support to assigned caseload.
  2. Provide training in the use of personal and community resources.
  3. Assist in developing formal and informal community supports.
  4. Assist the person served in increasing social support networks of relatives, friends and/or significant others.
  5. Offer encouragement and peer modeling in times of crisis.
  6. Advocate on behalf of persons with behavioral health problems to protect the client's rights and to assist in reducing associated stigma.
  7. Work in cooperation with other providers, family members or significant others involved in the client's recovery plan.
  8. Attend HRS staff meetings, Case Conferences, and Individual and Group Supervision.
  9. Maintain established standards of productivity.
  10. Observe all rules of confidentiality relating to clinical information and treatment, both internally and when dealing with external agencies and/or individuals.
  11. Maintain understanding client's rights policy and procedures.
  12. Participate in staff training and development.
  13. Serve on designated committees within the agency.
  14. Maintain professional and ethical standards at all times.
  15. Observe the guidelines established within the Code of Ethics and Conduct.
  16. Perform other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/LICENSE: 

  • Peer Support Specialist Certification. 
     
  • Self-identify as an individual with life experience of being diagnosed with a serious mental illness or substance use disorder which meets Federal Definitions,
    • Are well established in their own recovery,
    • Are currently in recovery and are stable,
    • Have a high school diploma or GED equivalency,
    • Are supervised by a Qualified Professional (QP), and
    • Are not a family member of the individual who receives Peer Support services. 

SKILLS: 

  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Ability to interact with various types of people.
  • A sound understanding of mental health and/or substance abuse problems and treatments.
  • Personal traits including patience, tolerance, caring, maturity, and understanding.
