Global Vision Support Services, LLC is seeking a compassionate and motivated Certified Peer Support Specialist to provide therapeutic mentoring and skill-building support for individuals receiving behavioral health services. This role focuses on helping consumers develop daily living skills, improve social functioning, and achieve goals outlined in their Person-Centered Plan.
Key Responsibilities
Provide therapeutic mentoring and peer support to consumers.
Assist with daily living and community living skills.
Support development of socialization, coping, and adaptation skills.
Provide behavior and anger management support and substance abuse education.
Monitor symptoms and help consumers practice healthy coping strategies.
Participate in community activities that support consumer goals.
Maintain accurate documentation, including daily progress notes and weekly timesheets.
Communicate regularly with the Qualified Professional and follow all agency policies.
Ensure consumer safety, confidentiality, and rights are protected.
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
NC Certified Peer Support Specialist Certification (required)
Must be 18 years or older
Ability to pass state-mandated trainings
Valid North Carolina Driver’s License and reliable transportation
Must pass criminal background and Health Registry checks
Preferred
1 year experience in human services or related field
Experience working with individuals with behavioral health or substance use challenges
Additional Information
Supervision provided by a Qualified Professional.
Training opportunities available.
Must complete required documentation and attend agency trainings.
Salary: Based on experience $17.50 to $20 per hour.
