North Carolina Certified Peer Support Specialist (NCCPSS)

Position Summary
Capital Assisted Services is seeking compassionate and motivated Certified Peer Support Specialists (CPSS) to join our team. The CPSS uses their lived experience with mental health and/or substance use recovery to provide support, encouragement, advocacy, and mentorship to individuals working toward their own recovery goals. This position plays a vital role in promoting hope, self-determination, and community integration.
 

NC Certified Peer Support Specialist - PT/FT

NC Certified Peer Support Specialist for Durham/Wake (Triangle) and Henderson/Vance/Granville/Warren County areas but not limited.

Must be able to meet in person in Durham office location for face-to-face monthly supervision purposes.   

Must be able to print/scan/fax/email or have ability/resource to do so-- and have available voicemail to reach easily. Must own vehicle for transportation for self.

NCCPSS Peer Navigator

A Peer Navigator has the support, access, credibility, competency, respect, and
valued role within the mental health and substance use disorder service delivery system to positively
impact the lives of individuals experiencing mental health and addiction challenges. They facilitate group
and individual peer support programs under the umbrella of the Hope Coalition. This position will work
closely with local hospitals, specifically Pardee, to support patients while in the hospital and upon discharge in their recovery
journey.

Peer Support Specialist

The Peer Support Specialist (PSS) is a key member of our team at Love and Respect Community for Recovery and Wellness, a Peer Support-run recovery community organization. This Peer Support Specialist role offers a fulfilling opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of individuals on their recovery journeys.

This role involves providing support, encouragement, and mentorship to individuals facing substance use and mental health challenges. The Peer Support Specialist will engage with individuals using lived experience and offer guidance toward recovery and wellness.

Certified Peer Support Specialist / CPSS

Job Description: Provides highly individualized services in the community and promotes individual self-determination and decision-making to individuals with Mental Health or Substance Abuse issues.  Certified Peer Support Specialists also provide essential expertise and consultation to the entire team to promote a culture in which each individual’s point of view and preferences are recognized, understood, respected and integrated into treatment, rehabilitation , and community self-help activities.

Experienced NC Certified Peer Support Specialists for hire

Nationally accredited CARF agency seeking immediate hire of NCCPSS staff with 2 or more years of work experience in the field.

Requirements include:

NC Certified Peer Support Specialist current certification

Clean DMV and criminal background check, clean NC Healthcare Registry check (pre-hire job offer)

Ability to recruit and maintain minimum of 8 self-referral cases (if PT, 5+ cases)

Ability to work M-F, 9am-5pm (other hours on weekends optional per contractor scheduling) 

NC Certified PEER SUPPORT SPECIALIST - Contractors (1099s) - Full-time preferred (8+ cases), Part-time (5+ cases)

Ability to recruit and maintain minimum of 8-10 self-referral cases if not payer-referred (if PT, 5+ cases)

About your Role: 

The Peer Support Specialist (PPS), under the supervision of the Clinical Director or Regional Director, is responsible for providing opportunities for individuals receiving services to direct their own mental health process. The PPS is also responsible for facilitating the development of a sense of wellness and self-worth.
