Status message

Effective April 1, the NCCPSS Program will transition to an ONLINE-ONLY APPLICATION PROCESS. Certification and recertification applications must be submitted using the ONLINE portal. Mailed (paper) applications will not be accepted. We encourage all applicants to create an account first and access the online application now to help avoid application processing delays. Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate Certified Peer Support Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a personal experience of recovery from mental health or addiction issues and be dedicated to supporting others on their own recovery journey. As a Certified Peer Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in providing peer-based support, mentoring, and guidance to individuals struggling with behavioral health issues. This position requires a strong understanding of behavioral health and crisis management techniques.

Duties:
- Provide individualized support and guidance to individuals with mental health or addiction issues.

- Engage clients and promote positive change

-Collaborate with other mental health professionals and organizations to ensure comprehensive care

-Conduct crisis intervention and provide immediate support during emergency situations]

-Participate in peer support groups and facilitate discussions to foster a sense of community and shared experience

-Implement personalized treatment plans tailored to each client's unique needs

-Maintain accurate records and documentation of client interactions and progress

-Serve as a mentor and role model, offering encouragement and support clients

Requirements:

- Certification as a Peer Specialist.

-NCI/EBPI certified

-First aid/CPR certified

- Knowledge of behavioral health and mental health counseling

- Ability to provide crisis management and intervention

-Resources for mental health and addiction recovery

-Ability to work effectively in a team environment

-Commitment to supporting others in their recovery journey
