Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing assistance and guidance to individuals facing challenges related to mental health, addiction, and behavioral health.
We are seeking potential hires from the following counties: Stokes, Forsyth, Yadkin, Davie, Surry, and Iredell.
Duties
- Provide service coordination; crisis assessment and intervention; symptom assessment and management; individual counseling and psychotherapy, administration, monitoring and documentation; substance abuse treatment; work-related services;
- Activities of daily living services; social, interpersonal relationship and leisure-time activity services;
- Support services or direct assistance to ensure that individuals obtain the basic necessities of daily life; and education, support, and consultation to individuals’ families and other major supports.
- Provides highly individualized services in the community and promotes individual self-determination and decision-making.
- Provides consumer education and individual/system advocacy.
- Provide services in the community and in conjunction with other team members.
- May need to shift work schedule based on needs of the individuals served by the team.
- Team member must be available to provide treatment, rehabilitation, and support activities during the week.
Experience
Candidates should possess experience or training in the following areas:
- An individual who is or has been a recipient of mental health services with a mental illness.
- High school diploma/GED
- Must have completed NC Certified Peer Support Specialist courses and received a NC Certified Peer Support Specialist Certification.
