GreenTree Peer Support Program, a thriving peer operated organization in Winston-Salem, NC, is seeking an Executive Director. The Director will have experience providing peer support and will demonstrate the qualities of empathy and vision with a focus on empowering people and contributing to community solutions through peer support. The Director will demonstrate values that honor every person’s right to respect, inclusion, and care and honors every person's right and potential for recovery and resilience.

Along with the Director of Programs and the Chief of Operations, the director will have a critical role in the work of our Peer Team and will honor the needs of peer staff for self-care as they do the very active work at our Peer Center. This role calls for a servent-leadership style where the activity of the organization is informed by the Peer Team and input by our peer community participants.

GreenTree offers empowering support for individuals wanting to recover their best mental health. We also have a Recovery Community Organization component that supports individuals with substance use issues. We additionally engage individuals whose neurodiversity has become the basis of life struggles. GreenTree also hosts individuals needing crisis support in our overnight Refuge space. There are further innovations to be developed according to local community need!

Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Management: Maintain productive relations with our innovative board of directors. Support and lead organizational culture to energize creativity, responsive peer practices, and job satisfaction among Peer Team. Manage and redevelop budget as needed with organizational growth.
  • Advocacy and Community Relations: Create collaborative relationships with key community partners to influence more positive community outcomes and problem-solving
  • Maintain a climate that attracts and retains a talented and diverse staff
  • Fundraising & Communications: Create and maintain relationships with individuals and organizations to facilitate success of organization's financial future. Use data-informed reporting to funders and to potential funders. Seeks new funding sources as our organization grows.
  • Planning & New Business: With input by Peer Team and collaborative partners, work with board of directors to develop ongoing strategic planning and development.

Qualifications

  • Comprehension of and dedication to our Mission, Vision, and Values as a basis for leadership, for management, and for community messaging.
  • NC CPSS Certification
  • Experience with mutuality-honoring peer support
  • Experience working in a non-profit organization
  • B.A. in a human service field (other fields may be considered)
  • Successful fundraising and development experience
  • Experience in accountable management of funds

* Note:  A thorough, supportive orientation will be provided by the current E.D. for beginning this role as may be helpful.
