Position Summary:

We are seeking a Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPSS) to join our team. In this role, you will use your personal lived experience and recovery journey to provide encouragement, advocacy, and support to individuals working toward their own recovery.

Qualifications:

  • Already have Certified Peer Support Specialist certification
  • High school diploma or equivalent (some college preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Must have CPR/First Aid certification
  • Must have a Crisis Intervention certification

Responsibilities:

  • Provide peer support services to individuals in recovery, focusing on hope, empowerment, and self-determination
  • Share personal recovery experiences appropriately to build rapport and inspire hope
  • Assist clients in developing coping skills, recovery goals, and self-advocacy skills
  • Support individuals in navigating community resources, social services, and healthcare systems
  • Document services provided in accordance with agency and state requirements
  • Work collaboratively with clinical staff, case managers, and other team members to do treatment team meetings.
  • Attend Treatment Team Meetings with clients to review their goals with clients every 90 days.
  • Be present for Mandatory End of the Month Peer Support Meetings with supervisors.
