Position Summary:

Position Summary

The Peer Support Specialist uses their own lived experience with recovery from substance use, mental health challenges, or both to support, mentor, and empower individuals on their recovery journey. This role promotes hope, encourages self-advocacy, and helps clients build the skills and support networks needed for long-term recovery. Peer Support Specialists work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver trauma-informed, person-centered services.

Requirement: NC Peer Support Specialist certification listed on the NCCPSSP and One (1) year of professional adult substance use work experience
