PSS-Harm Reduction Community Navigator

The primary role of the Harm Reduction Community Navigator (HRed CN) is to engage WNCAP syringe services program clients by creating and maintaining meaningful peer relationships while utilizing healthy boundaries.  The HRed CN must be comfortable around people who use drugs and injection equipment, including needles, and, if relevant, have a minimum of 12 months of active substance use recovery. Qualified candidates must have a demonstrated understanding of the principles of Harm Reduction and one of the following:

  • North Carolina Peer Support Specialist Certification; or
  • Eligibility for North Carolina Peer Support Specialist Certification with willingness to complete certification within a specified timeframe upon hire.

Coastal Horizons Center, Inc. is seeking a qualified Peer Support Specialist (PSS) for our TASC (Treatment Accountability for Safer Communities) Program in the following counties: Alamance and surrounding counties.

Peer Support Specialist

Certified Peer Support Specialist to work either as a community based worker, working 1:1 with individuals with mental health or substance abuse struggles OR as part of the care management team working to address both the clients mental health and physical health struggles.  Positions may begin as part time but can become full time with benefits.  Please submit resume or letter of interest to lindamcdonald@lechris.com.  Needing individuals in Carteret, Craven, Pitt and Edgecombe/Nash areas.  $16-$19 per hour.  

Certified Peer Support Specialist

  • The Peer Support Specialist exemplifies recovery principles in order to show by example that recovery is possible and attainable. The Peer Specialist shares their personal recovery story when appropriate, and walks the road of recovery alongside the service recipient.

  • Educate and advocate for the values and principles of the Recovery Model.

  • Work to increase level of cultural sensitivity, awareness and competency regarding Person-Centered and Peer-Delivered Services.

Certified Peer Support Specialist

• Ability to collaborate with the program QP to assess their own strengths and areas of growth and develop a supervision plan.

• Ability to collaborate with an individual to explore and identify barriers to accessing community resources or treatment providers.

• Ability to model and mentor recovery values, attitudes, beliefs, and personal actions to encourage wellness and resilience for individuals served and to promote a recovery environment in the community, residence, and workplace.

Administrative Peer Support Specialist

Job Description: Administrative Peer Support Specialist

We are looking for a North Carolina Certified Peer Support Specialist to join our team. The Peer Specialist is responsible for assisting with the daily operations of the peer support program. They will be responsible for assisting peers in need, providing peer support and assistance, and working with peer support coordinators to ensure that all peer support programs are working smoothly and effectively. This position is specifically for an Administrative Peer Support Position.

Outreach Certified Peer Support Specialist

This peer would: 

Hospital Inpatient Certified Peer Support needed

Work to help people who are in an inpatient setting follow-up with discharge planning. Participate in hospital discharge planning, and help members engage in after care services. Work is in the hospital and community settings. Work closely with hospital staff and behavioral health staff to promote health and wellness of members. Provides highly individualized services in the community and promotes individual self-determination and decision-making to individuals with Mental Health or Substance Abuse issues.
